Opening of the Church of St Edward

The church was opened on the 13th of October 1915, the feast day of St. Edward the Confessor, who was the last King of the House of Wessex, alive c.1003-1066, having been delayed by a month due to the original date being the night of the first Zeppelin raid over Golders Green.
