Opening Masses of The Mission of St Edward the Confessor Catholic Church

Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church opened on Christmas Day 1909, when Father Bendon said two masses in the Presbytery, with 50 people present. The first sod had been cut earlier that summer. Mass was said twice each Sunday after that Christmas, with congregation members sitting outside on the grass in order to hear the service.
