Kerem School opened

In 1955 the Kerem primary school opened in order to allow the children to continue both their secular and Jewish education. Space was primarily made in the Synagogue Hal and then in the classroom block above the new Hall. The top two classes of the Kindergarten formed the beginning of the primary school, with classes up to age 11 being added a year later.
