This photo shows the damage done to the Synagogue after bombing raids in 1941. Much of it was destroyed but eventually rebuilt and consecrated in 1958.

During the course of WWII, the Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue helped to secure the wellbeing of Kindertransport children. The synagogue was also struck by a bomb.
