Play and Pageant Union celebrate Golden Jubilee of the Suburb

In 1957, for the Golden Jubilee of the Suburb, three of the Suburb’s dramatic societies came together to form a triple bill; the Speedwell Players performed Noel Coward's Still Life, Pantoplayers put on the member written Hubbub on the Suburb and the Play and Pageant Union presented A Phoenix Too Frequent.

Formed after World War I in 1920 after uniting the Pageant Committee with the indoor dramatic activities of the Suburb, it eventually merged with the Speedwell Players in 1966 to form the Garden Suburb Theatre which is still active now.
