Play and Pageant Union put on "The Mask and The Face"
The Mask and The Face was written in 1904, and based upon an earlier Italian novel, La Maschera e il volta. According to the review, the play was very well received by the audience and was a great success for the Play and Pageant Union.
Formed after World War I in 1920 after uniting the Pageant Committee with the indoor dramatic activities of the Suburb, it eventually merged with the Speedwell Players in 1966 to form the Garden Suburb Theatre which is still active now.
