In Novenber 2015 the weathervane cockerel that used to sit on top of St Jude’s spire was blown down in a storm. In preparaton for the repair, in August 2017, wall walkers removed the large 30kg ball the cockerel was connected to and lowered it to the ground. The restorers discovered a small Bell’s whisky bottle inside the ball with some papers inside.The bottle and papers are shown above.

St Judes Church
Located in Central Square, St Jude's Church was consecrated in 1911 and the spire dedicated in 1913, it has been a key part of the Suburb's history and heritage from it's earliest days.
