WW2 memories of Talya Singer
WW2 memories of Talya Singer

This is really a post-war memory but when I was a small child in the late 40’s and even into the early 50’s I think, we used to go to what I recall as a prefab building in the Market Place where Heathfielde now stands, to be given flat shaped bottles of orange juice.  I guess we were given other things too but I only remember the orange juice being such a novelty and so delicious!

I grew up in the Suburb from 1949, and when I married we lived in Sheffield for 5 years before moving back to London in 1981, and buying our present house in Southway which still had a bomb shelter in the back garden.  It was not in good condition and we had it removed.
