Steven Feldman writes: I was caught walking across the Heath Extension yesterday around 4:30pm when the heavens opened & I almost had to swim home!
The air was white with sheets of rain. I’ve really never seen anything quite like it. There was no shelter under the trees & I didn’t hang about when the lightening started!
All the roads drainage covers were like showers throwing water several feet in the air & the Heath’s paths & pavements were like rivers with water pouring off them in torrents.
I can’t imagine I’ll see the like of it again it was so extreme!
