John Malcolm Forbes Ludlow (1821-1911) - Ludlow Way
John Malcolm Forbes Ludlow was an influential leader in the Christian Socialist movement, in honour of whom Ludlow Way was named. A barrister by profession, he was also the founder and editor of The Christian Socialist Newspaper, as well as co-founder of the Working Men’s College alongside John Frederick Denison Maurice. Like Maurice and other Christian Socialists, he actively supported women and the working classes — he advocated for better rights of women in the clergy, and dedicated much of his time to mission work for the poor in London.
