Play and Pageant Union put on "1066 and All That"

1066 and All That was put on in January 1939, a comedy crash course in British history, featuring some amazing costumes! The performance was praised by a journalist who had seen the premier performance of professionals, and commented that this was one instance in which amateurs and professionals were comparable.

Formed after World War I in 1920 after uniting the Pageant Committee with the indoor dramatic activities of the Suburb, it eventually merged with the Speedwell Players in 1966 to form the Garden Suburb Theatre which is still active now.
