Pageant Committee puts on The Masque of Fairthorpe
In 1910 the Play and Pageant Committee performed a large-scale outdoor pageant: The Masque of Fairthorpe, an allegory about the creation of Hampstead Garden Suburb. This and other pageants were organised by the Pageant Committee.
Formed after World War I in 1920 after uniting the Pageant Committee with the indoor dramatic activities of the Suburb, it eventually merged with the Speedwell Players in 1966 to form the Garden Suburb Theatre which is still active now.
